"IMPLICATIONS IN D MAJOR"; AN ADAGIO FOR CHAMBER STRINGS
My latest piece is a six-minute quartet for strings in which I substituted the traditional second violin for a double bass. I set out to write a chorale of sorts, an elegy of tension and bloom for our current political climate. I am grateful for Chris Souza of Penn Strings, for he was such a great help preparing the charts, and performing the piece along with Audrey Simons, Michael Montero, and Domenick Fiore. I am thankful for Don Sternecker, Tim Carbone, Dan Papa and Patrick Heine for capturing the audio and visuals.
“It's almost four years since Lou Rogai’s Lewis & Clarke project released any new music, but today the Pennsylvania-based musician is back with a mighty suite of music. Much in the way that the Triumvirate album slowly revealed its glory, "Implications in D Major; Adagio for Chamber Strings" - an instrumental movement for a chamber quartet released under Rogai’s own name - is a glacially paced, yet incredibly moving piece of music.”

"There are moments of sustained, weighted beauty when this quartet bows out mournful, yet wholly illuminated lines both in unison and interwoven around each players timbre-rich performance. By far one of the most beautiful pieces I've heard this year."-Tome to the Weather Machine
